Windows Vista

Hello, Vista. Microsoft finally settled on a name for its forthcoming OS. XP's successor traded in its code name, Longhorn, and will be dubbed Windows Vista.

Microsoft said the first beta will be released on August 3 to developers, but for us, the consumer, won't see the final release until the second half of 2006. Vista's tag line: Clear, confident, connected: bringing clarity to your world.
