Copacabana and the map of Switzerland.

Last Saturday was Signal Institute’s family day. It was compulsory event for all those who are associated with Signal Institute (SI) to attend. Having no choice, I lazily made my way to the SAF yacht club. Although I have a direct bus to the place, I opted to alight at Sembawang MRT and take the free shuttle service provided by the camp.

Upon reaching there I noticed something odd. The bar at the yacht club had a sign reading Copacabana. The reason I found this odd is because I never have heard the name Copacabana until I read the book Eleven Minutes.

Copacabana was the name of the Swiss night club the central character, Maria was working in. In less than a week upon reading the book I came across the name in my real life experience. And also today one of my colleagues was holding a map of Switzerland in hands, the country where Maria was working.

Do you not find it odd when you see a Swiss map, the Copacabana sign after reading a book concerning these matters? Is this an omen?

To add more oddity to the subject the new book which is also another Paulo Coelho’s book entitled the alchemist which I incidentally I finished reading today is all about reading the omens.

Maybe as with the alchemist my experiences recently has already been written. As the Arabs in the book told the boy Santiago “Maktub” whose name implies “it is written”.
