PLANTAR FASCIITIS
Concerning on the way I walk and a new condition.
Here’s what happen, I was to report to Sembawang camp for my driving course. I had already declared that I have flat feet and am I am currently suffering from bilateral Plantar Fasciitis. But the green light was given for me to start the course.
But after only two days of driving, I couldn’t take it. Every time I pressed the clutch with my foot, I pain would become unbearable. The pain somehow runs up to my knees and starts shaking. The same goes for the right foot when pressing the accelerator down.
So I sought to see the Medical Officer because I couldn’t carry on driving until I got this problem sorted out as soon as possible. The medical officer gave me 10 days excuse for driving which in this case resulted in being out of course. Only 3 days and I was out of course.
Sure enough it agitated and annoyed many people. Those in charge were not satisfied with my reasons, but hey I am the one that is suffering this pain for more than 3 months now. I have gotten myself almost 6 weeks of excuse running because of this problem.
After the much hassle, I was to report back to my unit. So I rang up my warrant officer and was told to meet him at Jurong East Swimming Complex because Signal Institute was celebrating its 2nd unit anniversary. I got there ASAP and told him what had happen.
Only than I realized that my flat feet condition was not recorded prior to my enlistment. Well it’s true that I do not have a black and white for this condition because I didn’t see a single doctor for this problem
Now I have to see a orthopedic and ask him to write a certifiable documentation of what’s wrong with my feet. Although I have a lot of explaining to do on Monday, I am not afraid because my pain is legitimate and I have medical certification stating my condition.
Damn, the only problem I have with my feet is that my toes point inwards when I walk. Pigeon Toes. Although it never posed a single problem except for ridicule and the often asked question of why are you walking like that, just 7 months in national service I have now learned that I have flat feet and suffering Plantar Fasciitis
The sad thing is that I remember the times I used to play soccer bare footed in the basketball court during when the sun was at its hottest. I could endure all the pain and suffered innumerable blisters. But now I feel so weaken, and my feet are in constant pain. Well that’s life; it changes in a bloody instant
So till my next post ya, its bye from Ganz.
