Downtown to Chinatown
The first order of the day was to go for my very first orthopedic appointment at Singapore General Hospital. I made my way there with my mother. After a brief session, the doctor told me that I need to go for an x-ray next week before he could conclude anything.
He also told me that my problem could be long term. Not something I would have liked to hear. Anyway with my new appointment fixed, I headed downtown, to Chinatown. Just kidding folks, I actually went to Funan IT mall to get a X2VGA+.
Just what is this X2VGA+ you might wonder? It actually a peripheral that allows you to play your Xbox games in high definition on a LCD or CRT monitor. All you need to do is hook one end to the Xbox and the video out to your LCD or CRT monitor.
But upon reaching the location I was surprised to find many books in the bargain bin. I purchased two books that I thought were real good deals, Collins English dictionary plus good writing guide and a book about Indian Mythology. Although I saw a book about stars and planets I decided not to buy it.
I also rented out The Alchemist, the first book by Paulo Coelho. The funny thing was never realized the book was so thin. I thought it would at least be as the same thickness as the Da Vinci's code. Man was I wrong.
So after all this lofty books purchases, I finally bought the stuff for which I actually went there for, the X2VGA+. After having lunch at the basement of Peninsula Plaza, My mother and I headed back home. As soon as I got home, I quickly changed, dumped my books aside and hooked up my Xbox to my dad’s brand new 19” Philips monitor.
Man was I in for a sweet surprise. The games looked almost twice as good on the LCD monitor. But when I used my very own 17” CRT monitor the images looked even better.
Now how can I ever go back to play games on a television after witnessing those gorgeous high definition images on my monitors.
So till my next post ya, its bye from Ganz.
