SIGNAL OPS
Postings based on a computer.
Just an update, I have been posted to HQ Signals as a Signal Operator. The camp I am heading to is Stagmont Camp which is located near Choa Chu Kang MRT.
And just for the record I renounced my chance to go to command school because I was honest in my medical review and moral obligations . Well that’s that; now I have to look forward to being a lowly signal operator in the Singapore Armed Forces. At least it beats being a rifleman.
If you have noticed I might have been showing signs of negativism towards my national service. The truth is, I rather be doing my degree right now. This national service in my regard is a total waste of time. I rather learn the basic combat training and get on with my life instead of wasting my time doing an undemanding job any Tom, Dick and Harry could carry out.
And just when do we allow a mere computer to decide the fates of people. Oh well, if Singapore is not going to recognize its talented recruits, I can only feel pity for this great nation. Anyway I can only hope my posting gives me the personal freedom to carry on with my precious personal projects. And for the curious cats, I have just started on the pre production work on my latest animation, The Tin Machines.
Oh before I go, I am officially abandoning my work on Gandhi’s Guns. I was going to write a script that was based on the life of a boy who witnessed the assassination of Mohandas Gandhi. The truth is, I was going to experiment on the script on how to approach the story but as my personal commitments started to pile up, I felt it was better for me cease work on Gandhi’s Guns for now.
In the end, Gandhi’s Guns was always an ambitious and experimental project and as is the case with such endeavors they do not always come to fruition.
So till my next post ya, its bye from Ganz.
