CONGLOMERATING QUOTATIONS
Behold the words of past men and women.
I have been quietly collecting quotations ever since I started doing my internship. It started off as a means of forgetting work stress. I wrote quotations simply to take my mind off from the cruelty of work.
My internship experience was something I wasn’t too happy with because I simply couldn’t work in a confide place. Although my friend Hong Lee was sitting behind me, I didn’t want to bother him all the time.
I had to find other means to keep myself from going insane. And quotations was one of those things that kept me on the right track.
My supervisor Ryan Woon was the type of guy that would do anything to suck up to his boss. He often took credits for my work and pushed his delegated works to me. There were several incidents that nearly caused me to kick his ass. And to make matters worse Bernie Khoo, Ryan’s superior, wasn’t too happy with the interns he got. He had the nerve to ask me whether I was worth the $450 they were paying me.
Well my displeasure of my internship is well documented. All my friends are probably bored by the amount of bitching I have done over this matter. The reason why I cannot tolerate this is because everything I have learned about moral values simply doesn’t exist in the working world.
The Singapore has become a place where people have lost their soul and their passion. They simply work because they need to stay employed. It’s a sad thing because Singaporeans have become like zombies. Enough said about Singapore’s wonderful working ethics, I am getting sick of it.
I started writing down 5 quotations per day for every day of my internship. After my internship was over, I simply wrote a quote a day in my book. Though I am not sure of the number of quotations I have in my possession, all I know is that I have written well over two exercise books full of them. My quotations come from two sources it’s either from the Internet or I create my own quotations. My quotations are sometimes silly and contradictive.
Well it’s a style I have made on my own. I tend see the darkness in light, rather than marvel at its beauty. Things are not what they seem, I simply looker deeper because I am wiser.
I might sound corny sometimes and to some people you might find me and my opinions lame. The problem lies within yourselves. When a person expresses their viewers we often like to think highly of ourselves and often shoot down others. I have done this on many occasions especially towards my brother.
But looking at it now not only has my bother has become more independent, he has created a purpose for himself. He wants to prove to others that he is as capable as anyone else.
People are like guitars. Hit the right strings and we make music. Hit the wrong ones we create bad distortion. My polytechnic lecturer Mr. Spicer once said ‘it’s all about getting good bad distortion.’ That’s what I do; I simply hit the strings. And for the irony of this metaphor, I do not know how to play a guitar or any musical instrument.
To all you folks out there, there is no right and wrong. What we have considered right is an assumption made by the majority of people. I am not saying I am right and you are wrong. And if I said that it defeats the purpose of my statement. But I am not saying I am wrong either. By now you are properly confused. But never mind, all you have to do is to find wisdom for yourself. Only than can you understand the meaning of life.
On a final note, if you think I am self centered and egoistical, you are right. In your own opinion that is. I am who I am not because I say I am, but because I know I am.
And as for the quotations, I shall post them up soon, so be patient. Remember patience is not a virtue, it’s a gift.
So till my next post ya, its bye from Ganz.
