AM I REALLY A GENIUS?

Concerning knowing useless fact and figures.

What is IQ?
IQ is the measure of a person's abilities, relative to others of the same age, which are used to obtain skills and knowledge or to function in complex social situations.

Though an IQ test measures only a few mental abilities, these few are targeted for measurement because they are well known to correlate highly with many other abilities.

These measured abilities strongly indicate how one would be expected to score on a test for more specific abilities, and gives a good overall view of an individual's general intelligence.

What was my Result?
Although it’s been a week since I took my IQ test it was only until today that I realized that my result were sent to my email and was residing in the junk mail folder.

When I checked my email I saw a result of 140 for my IQ test. I was horrified to learn that an IQ of 140 translated in being a genius. In all my years of school education, genius was never the word that was associated with me.

I never saw myself as a genius. I have inability remembering spellings of words which is made worse by the fact I possess a horrendous memory. I also stagger in between my conversations and often get tongue tied. Try saying yellow lorry, red lorry ten times straight with the right pronunciations as fast as possible.

So is it for Real?
As much as I like to consider myself as a genius, I am regrettably believe, I am no genius. I am simply someone who works hard to achieve my goals.

It really doesn’t matter to me if someone is a genius or not, this world was not built by geniuses but by honest and hardworking people. Well if you are a genius, work hard to show your intellectual abilities to others. People draw their inspiration from geniuses.

Singapore Brainiest
It really sickens me, when I see the television nowadays. There is a show called Singapore brainiest. Where young students to taxi drivers are asked many questions based on general knowledge. The one who answers the most questions and is lucky enough to last all the rounds is than declared Singapore brainiest whatever.

Although many people in Singapore like the show, they fail to see the program as nothing more than cheap entertainment. Singaporeans are like birds, Remember birds of the same feather flock together.

If something becomes popular, we do our best to localize it and get noisy teens to shout and cheer. Look at Singapore idol. It is advertised more than the Singapore National Day Parade. And why must is be called Singapore idol. Oh never mind.

Back to the topic at hand, if you read lots of GK books, you are bound to know a lot useless facts. It’s true. Why do we need to know the height of the tallest building when it serves no purpose?

A true genius is not one who knows about many things, but one who knows how to apply his knowledge to any given problem. A true genius is a person who doesn’t think out of a box but a person who acknowledges there is no box.
