Post Festivity Celebrations

In which the author invites past friends from a bygone era.

Last Saturday I invited my old friends from Woodlands Secondary. We used to play soccer almost everyday after school. But after secondary school days we barely met and played soccer. Infact these days I get the feeling that I play more like a retiree.

Its funny how time changes things. Everyone moves on.

The dinner was great and it was nice to see my friends having a good time, chatting and mocking our old teachers. I even made a mini World Cup tournament on my Xbox360 just to see who the best FIFA player was.

In a surprising turn of events the final match between Argentina and Brazil was played between the oldest, my brother, and the youngest, Mathi's brother.

After my brother won the tournament, my friends wished everyone at home a good night’s rest and left with similes on their faces. Although I know I can’t afford to give them fancy treats I did what I could. Seeing the happiness on my friends’ faces makes it all worth while.

My only disappointment was the fact that I had to cancel my lunch plans for my polytechnic friends. It seems the few people I called were not able to make it because of their various commitments.

I wanted to have a real gathering but seeing how small the number would turn out, I decide to invite them some other time. I only hope everyone would be free by then.

When I eventually invite them I plan to play play our old cheesy animations so that we can laugh at our own work and remember the times we had in the poly.

Now will you look at the time, I am running late for my midnight run.
