The Necessary Things

In which the author buys a number of things for his big day tomorrow.

I bought a few things today, necessary things. I bought a shirt that was two sizes too small, a pants, a black belt, a black leather crocodile shoes, a blue Motorola MOTORAZR V3x handphone and a 1GB SD card.

The shirt I bought was too small for me. Even before buying the shirt I called and asked my dad which size I should buy. He told me to go with 15 ½. And so I did. Only when I tried it on at home I realised that I should have asked my mother instead of father. Oh well I guess I am not fated to wear the shirt. Luckily it only cost me $8. Since I am unable to wear it I told my mother to give it to someone else.

Let’s get the facts straight. I bought a new phone not because I threw my Nokia handphone into the Singapore River. I bought this Motorola phone because my Samsung phone, the one which I lost and was by a bus driver, has gone mad. The phone is giving me all kinds of weird problems. Sometimes it just starts dialing stars and asterisks all by itself and at other times none of the buttons respond.

I have gone weary of my phone’s maddening nature and decided it was time to buy a new phone and also upgrade my current phone plan. The good news here is that I only paid $18 for the phone as I had a $150 phone voucher to cover the remainder of the cost. I also used my reward points to discount the price of a 1 GB SD card. Although the card was meant for the phone, I am going to use it for my Pentax camera instead.

All in all it was a day of necessary expenditure. I only hope I do not need to buy more clothing. I am just not cut out for this kind of stuff.

It is getting late. Tomorrow is my first day at work. I hope everything goes well. There is also the matter of the Deepavali feast that needs to be blogged. I guess that can wait.

Now it’s time for sleep.
