35 Years Service
My Dad is being recognized tomorrow night for his 35 years service to the Shell Company. He tells me that not many people he has worked with reach 35 years of service. I know he is very proud of his achievement and I am too. I finally get to see my dad being acknowledged for all his contributions to his company.
My father went to work at age 19. He started off by pulling grass and has worked his way up to be a plant supervisor. My father didn’t finish school. He made the most of what he had. He was a hard worker. He got to where he is in life because he worked hard, had no bad habits and realized the importance of money from a very young age.
As far as I can remember my father has never bought anything expensive for himself. Even during festivals, he would rather buy clothes for my brother and me than for himself.
During my school days, I always ask less pocket money then I ought to really have. And when I was enlisted to the army I took it upon myself to pay my dad all my expenses he has paid for me. It comforts me to know that I did my share.
There is no more I can say of my father that I haven’t said before. He is my hero. He has worked selflessly to bring up his family and often sacrificing his own personal enjoyment to raise his children and look after his elders. I will never forget the deeds of my father nor the principles he has taught me.
And when his time comes to pass the touch, I hope my brother and me can carry all his burdens.
To be his son, is and always will be a blessing.
So till my next post ya, its bye from Ganz.
