01. New Year’s Resolutions
Well it’s that time of the year again. The time where we wish certain things would happen in the course of the coming year. Some of us will hope for great and wonderful things, but for me I just want to achieve some simple goals.
Nothing is worse then when you look back at the year and realize you didn’t achieve the goals you set out for yourself. So why cause the heartbreak?
I am not going to set absurd goals and dream that they would happen to me. Instead I am setting realistic goals so that I can achieve them and become a better person. I know its sounds a little corny but hey life is as simple as it gets. It’s just that we people like to overcomplicate our lives so as to make ourselves look and feel important.
Frankly I am sick of all the theatrics and am not going to lie to myself anymore. I will do the necessary and hopefully my good god deems me worthy of my wishes and grants them.
So folks as we count down to the New Year I will be posting my simple New Year’s resolutions one at a time. So here my first wish for 2006.
Reduce And Maintain My Weight
I have always had weight problems. It started when I was in secondary school. No matter how hard I try I never seem to lose weight. On my 20th birthday I weighed a grotesque 98kg. Man, I felt so bad looking at myself in the mirror at that time. That day I vowed to exercise regularly to reduce my weight and also telling myself that slowly but surely I can do it.
2 years on and I weigh 75kg now. I hope I can shed 7 more kilograms and maintain this weight throughout the year. I know its going to be tough but I am not about to give it up yet. It’s been years since I reached below the 70kg mark and it would be a bonus if I can reduce my waist line too.
Target = 68kg, 31 inches
