Three From Three

Concerning things which do not always happen the way we envisioned them.

Like Sunday. I was bored. Hadn’t the slightly idea where to go. If you lived in Singapore long enough you will realise it's nothing more than a collection of tall flats, shopping centers and a few oddly amusing places that seem to only interest the tourist.

Anyway I found myself at Kinokuniya Orchard renewing my membership card instead of replacing it and buying three books, Neil Gaiman’s Fables & Reflections, Paulo Coelho’s The Witch of Portobello and David Gemmell’s Shield of Thunder.

After eight long months of searching for the soft cover edition of David’s book, I found it there in the corner of the rack that was named fantasy. It was sort of creepy. Maybe it was the way it was just there, looking at me and touting me.

I scooped the book up and thought about not buying it for a moment. It began to wriggle wildly. I panicked and bought the book so as not to bring attention to myself. It’s not wriggling now. I think it’s asleep.

Well at least now I haven’t got a reason to be bored. That is until I finish reading these books.

Here’s a reminder. If I have borrowed anything from you, please be nice and let me know. I will try to return whatever that is I borrowed from you. Really. Trust me on this.
