IS IT JUST ANOTHER DAY?

Concerning choosing things that happen to us.

Today is like any other day, except some people around the world have decided to celebrate this day with their friends and family.

They have decided today would be the festival of lights and also have decided to celebrate it.

How and why they even want to celebrate this day is entirely up to them. But to me it’s just another day with the only difference being I get to see an unusually large number of relatives who visit for the sake of visiting.

I really used to love Deepavali. But in the last few years things have changed. I feel as though my family are forcing themselves to celebrate. Well I can’t really speak for them; it’s just what I observe. Deepavali used to be so much fun. Sigh.

I have decided not to invite any of friends over this year and I say this with a heavy heart. Things have happened that has put a sour taste in my mouth; I just don’t feel the urge to pretend that I am happy and put up a false face to my friends. I hope they would understand but I doubt it. No one truly does.

For my part, I have to wish you a Happy Deepavali, so I wish you a Happy Deepavali.

For your part you get to choose how to spend your Deepavali.
