THE CORNELL BOX TUTORIAL

Concerning area lights and the stubborn glow.

Here’s the result of one of the tutorials I finished from the book I recently bought. I lit this scene using 17 Spotlights, to mimic an area light, and 5 Omni lights. The render looks really great given its incredibly short rendering time, 23seconds.

The only problem I faced was adding the glow effect. For some odd reason or another it just wasn’t working. I kept on going till it was 4 in morning. I decided to take a break, sleep rather, and return to it later in the day.

Perseverance prevailed. I finally managed it get it right once I had my sleep. And if you are wondering what Cornell Box is? It is a room much like the one I used in which CG lighters use to demonstrate bounced lighting.
