Off Duty

Dear Readers I am elated to inform you that I won’t be blogging for an approximately two weeks.

Now, you might ask why I am so overjoyed rather than being depressed for not being able to blog. Yes, I did mention blogging is one of my favourite pastime activities, so why then should I feel joyous about something I am not able to do.

Well folks, I am going to West Malaysia to visit my aunt, uncle and my favourite cousins. And since it’s my first holiday in more three years I am really looking forward to it. As an added bonus I will be taking the train. I have always loved taking the train because, frankly speaking, besides the two modes of combustible land transportation, I have never been on any cruise or flight before. So I don’t really know what its like.

As for me the train will always hold a certain charm. I simply love the loud rhythmic heavy metal noise whenever you open the door of the train compartment. It’s so exhilarating. Just imagine what would happened if you threw yourselves out of train at that speed. Not that I would do such a thing, but damn it would indeed be an experience of a lifetime. I guess after which, you wouldn’t really have a life anymore.

My main point here is that we must learn not to cling to things, because everything is impermanent. No matter how much we love something we must learn to detach from it or else when we eventually lose it, we will dread on its loss and succumb to misery. This philosophy isn’t new, Infact it an old Buddhist saying.

Some of you might argue that detachment means don’t allow the experiences to fully penetrate you. But I beg to differ. I say it let it penetrate you only then will you learn how to leave it.

I know it sounds a little complicated. But rest easy, I will elaborate. Man, I love explaining this kind of stuff, makes sound so wise. Haha. Ok back to the subject at hand.

If you were to hold back on the emotions if you don’t allow yourself to go all the way through them, you never get to being detached; you’re too busy being afraid. You’re afraid of the pain, you’re afraid of the grief.

But if throw yourself into these emotions, you experience them fully and completely. You know what pain is. You know what grief is. After that you can recognize this emotion and detach from it.

Although blogging isn’t something many people cling to, I cite it as an example because it’s just a simple metaphor for being able to let go your favourite activities.

I hope you folks will enlighten for I am much saddened to see so many disillusioned souls. Buy hey it’s never too late to wake and see the world in new eyes.

Wohoo. I can’t wait for me holidays!

So till my next post ya, its bye from Ganz.
