Nature’s Own Plans

Every weekend it’s the same story. I stay up until 5am and would sleep until 12pm. It’s not that I go clubbing or anything like that; I simply stay at home and do either one of two things. Study (learn Maya) or work on my personal projects.

Anyway I woke up and wanted to go to Bukit Batok Driving Centre to register for my driving. But my mother and brother wanted me to go to the market and help them with the groceries. I did the errand but paid the price for my driving registration.

When I got there the nice lady at the counter told me that they were closed for the day and I would need to come tomorrow for the registration. Tomorrow it is I told to myself and proceeded to my second objective.

My brother and I took the Mrt to Bukit Batok station and waited for the bus for almost 20 minutes. A short journey later and we were at Bukit Timah Plaza. Strangely my whole family goes there to make their glasses.

I went there to replace my lens of my spectacles. I forgot that I was using high density lens and the replacement cost was more than I expected. I was expecting it to be around $100 but ended up costing $160. The good news is that I will be getting my new lens on Saturday.

On the way back, I got tempted to buy Need For Speed Most Wanted Black Edition for the PC. I didn’t want to waste money on games but I know I haven’t been good to myself lately and I deserve some pleasure in life. Even though I consulted my brother I was the one who had to make the difficult choice. I bought the game at popular bookstore for $60.

Now if my maths doesn’t fail me, I just spent a good $220 in a single day. God, I am a huge spender. Sigh.

It also means I cannot buy the new Adidas Germany Jersey (you know the white jersey with red, black, and yellow insets by the side and black stripes across shoulders.).

Not that I need it, I just felt it would be great to wear that jersey cause I am huge German team supporter. And it would have been special because I never owned a German national team jersey before. Oh well, I guess I must be smarter with my money from now onwards.

So after a KFC meal with my brother, we headed home. When I got home I installed my new game on my laptop and started playing it from 7pm to 5am in the morning. I could have gone longer, but I decided that my laptop more than anything needed rest. So I slept and woke up at 12 to realize it was raining.

It rained and rained for the whole day. I even begin to doubt why we call it Sunday when there was no sun all day. I waited for it to stop so that I could go to the Driving Centre again, but nature has its own plans. So I continued to play Need For Speed for the whole day occasionally stopping only for my own nature calls.

And that’s how my weekend passed me by. Sigh. I guess I would go register my driving after work today.
