Failed to Mention

I have resigned my job as a Cinema 4D trainer. Next week would be my last days at the office. The job wasn’t going anywhere and it wasn’t supposed to. I had enough of teaching kids how to use Cinema 4D. Not that I hate children or anything, I know that I could be doing more with my 3D skills than tutoring kids who see 3D just as another extra-curricular activity.

But I will miss my great colleagues. Helmi, Clara, Kunxin, Sowsan, Weng kit, Allan, Christopher, MacD were a great lot to be with.

Oh well, this phrase of my life has ended. I can only wish them all the best in their future endeavors. As for me, I plan to visit the states in a few short months to prepare for my degree.

Meanwhile I will be helping around the house, doing some freelance, register and launch my digital repository site and get in the best shape of my life. And oh, if time permits a little photography too.

Messy and Busy

Been busy that’s all.

Nothing much has changed. I’m still having breakfast by myself.

I stopped coffee for a while. I don’t remember why.

My mother having had her operation on Thursday is still in the hospital. My daily visits seem to cheer her. Then again, that shouldn’t be surprising.

And oh, the scorpion’s new album, Humanity Hour One rocks. 38 years on.

And now to bed and, with my sleeping program all messed up, I reckon I won’t be getting too much sleep. Oh well.

Ganz: Hey why the hurry?

Ganesan: I need to find it, can you help me?

Ganz: Hold on to your horses’ boy, tell me what you have lost first.

Ganesan: Well I don’t actually know what it’s called, but can you help me find it?

Ganz: Okay…so let me get this right you are looking for something but you don’t know what it is?

Ganesan: Yap

Ganz: Okay… can you at least describe it to be me then.

Ganesan: All I know is it’s something that brings happiness to me.

Ganz: So you want me to help you find this happiness thingy?

Ganesan: Right! Matey

Both scurry off in opposite directions in search of the happiness thingy and returns only after a considerable time has passed.

Ganz: Well looky here, I think this is what you have been looking for.

Ganesan: By George you found it maan.

Ganz: Where was it?

Ganesan: Right where you left it.

The Game of Life

The time has come
For me to talk to you
And I don't mean
To hurt your pride
But everybody needs a friend sometimes
To make you see the light

In the game of life
The strong survive
We're on a one-way street
We gotta make it out alive
And never let 'em drag us down
In the game of life
We live and die
Another breath begins
Another chance to win the fight
From the moment that you hit the ground
In the game of life

You're born to hunt
And never run away
And then you're hunted
By the prey
The wounded deer
Leaps highest to the sun
Until his day is done

In the game of life
The strong survive
We're on a one-way street
We gotta make it out alive
And never let 'em drag us down
In the game of life
We live and die
Another breath begins
Another chance to win the fight
From the moment that you hit the ground

Here comes the morning
It's time to play
The game of life
The game of life

In the game of life
The strong survive
We're on a one-way street
We gotta make it out alive
And never let 'em drag us down
In the game of life
We live and die
Another breath begins
Another chance to win the fight
From the moment that you hit the ground
It's the game of life
The game of life

Truths

The desire to know the Truth has always been man's obsession.

But when we do find out the Truth, we get disappointed because the Truth is contradictory to our beliefs. We soon destroy ourselves trying to convince ourselves of the Truth. Could it be easier to accept the lies and live on rather than paining ourselves over the Truth?

But here we all are, still seeking one Truth from another.

Concerning Explanations

Three people who were passing in a small caravan saw a man contemplating the sunset in the Sahara desert from the top of a mountain.

“It must be a shepherd who has lost a sheep and is trying to find it,” said the first.

“No, I don’t think he is looking for something, especially not at sunset - that confuses your vision. I think he is waiting for a friend.”

“I bet he’s a holy man looking for enlightenment,” commented the third.

They began to discuss what the man was doing, and got so involved in the discussion that they nearly ended up fighting with one another. Finally, to find out who was right, they decided to climb the mountain and ask the man.

“Are you looking for your sheep?” asked the first.

“No, I don’t have a flock.”

“Then you must be waiting for someone,” claimed the second.

“I am a lonely man who lives in the desert,” was the answer.

“Since you live in the desert, and in solitude, then we have to believe that you are a holy man in search of God, and you are meditating!” asserted the third man, content with this conclusion.

“Does everything on Earth need to have an explanation? So let me explain: I am here just looking at the sunset: isn’t that enough to lend a meaning to our lives?

Master the Mind

After having won many archery competitions, the town champion sought out the Zen master.

“I am the best of all,” he said. “I did not learn religion, I did not look for help from the monks, and I have been considered the best archer in the whole region. I heard that some time ago you were the best archer in the area, so I ask you: did you have to become a monk to learn to shoot arrows?

“No,” answered the Zen master.

But the champion was not satisfied: he took out an arrow, placed it in his bow, fired, and hit a cherry at a considerable distance. He smiled, as if to say: “You could have saved your time and just dedicated yourself to technique.” And he said:

“I doubt if you can do the same.”

Without demonstrating the least concern, the master took his bow and began to walk towards a nearby mountain. On the way there was an abyss that could only be crossed by an old rotting rope bridge that was almost falling down: with the utmost calm, the Zen master went to the middle of the bridge, took his bow, placed an arrow, aimed at a tree on the other side of the gulch, and hit the target.

“Now it’s your turn,” he said gently to the young man as he walked back to safe ground.

In trepidation, looking at the abyss below him, the young man went to the indicated spot and fired an arrow, but it landed very far from the target.

“That’s what one gets from discipline and practicing meditation,” concluded the master when the young man re-appeared at his side. “You can be very skilled with the instrument you have chosen to earn a living, but it’s all useless if you can’t manage to master the mind that uses the instrument.”

The Gathering

It seems getting people together these days is an art form by itself. One that I haven't had the chance of exercising all too often.

So this time instead of texting my friends, I have made a WordPress site to organize the event.

For all you DMMT friends of mine, here's the link if you missed it.

Do pass on this message.

Here's a message to the new borns, waiting to breathe: if you believe then you can achieve.
